Grantsville is located 35 miles west of Salt Lake City in the Tooele Valley and has a population of approximately 9500.

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • Call or visit to review a list of films and book already available in the library

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

  • 2 printers one of which is capable of scanning directly into FamilySearch

Descendency Research

Are you interested in taking family names to the Temple but don’t know where to start? Learn how to use the Family Tree to identify distant cousins who might be missing family members or need Temple work. This class will review the process of 1) choosing an ancestor, 2) selecting one of their descendants who might be missing family members, 3) finding a record identifying those missing family members, 4) attaching the record and adding new people, and 5) reserving ordinances.

Basic Navigation The demonstration shows how to navigate through and access the many features, tools and information available in Family Tree.
Adding Photos The demonstration shows how to upload, tag and link photos to persons in Family Tree.
Adding Sources The demonstration shows how to find, add, and attach source documents to persons in Family Tree.
Adding Stories The demonstration shows how to upload, tag and link stories to persons in Family Tree.


Getting the Most Out of Your LDS- Ancestry Membership

Church Members can sign-up through Family Search for a free Ancestry.com subscription.  This Subscription allows you to utilize the billions of records from around the world on Ancestry.com.  In this class you will learn how to take advantage of the records, stories and photos from Ancestry.com.

C. PHOTOS -
a. Use photos in stories above

c. Play a game with family members matching photos (Use treeseek.com to print 4 generation photos, cut out the photos and match them to a blank tree.)
