Getting Started as a New Contributor

Welcome! Thank you for your willingness to come and contribute your knowledge to help genealogists everywhere find their ancestors.

The following will help you get started (click the links to learn more about each item): 

  1. Register for an account (you may already have one if you use other FamilySearch.org or LDS.org web sites)
  2. Take the Wiki Tour or visit a New Wiki Contributors Training Meeting to learn more about ways you can contribute
  3. Edit your first page by:
    • Sharing something you know about where you live
    • Adding information about a place you are currently researching
    • Joining an ongoing project
      (The links below will help you get started)
  4. Edit your user page to tell others a little about yourself.
