Description

The county was named La porte means "the door" or "the port" in French. The County Seat is La Porte and was founded April 1, 1832. It is located in the North-central area of the state.[3]

School Records

Taxation

Indiana tax records complement land records and can be used in place of censuses or to supplement the years between censuses.
