Chapelry History

Leesfield St Thomas was created a chapelry in 1846 from, and lying within the boundaries of both Prestwich and Ashton under Lyne St Michael, Lancashire ancient parishes.

"LEESFIELD, a parochial chapelry in Prestwich and Ashton-under-Lyne parishes, Lancashire. It was constituted in 1846. The church was built by 1846. There were chapels for New Connexion Methodists, Primitive Methodists, and Brethren." [1]
