Many families have traditionally recorded births, marriages, and deaths in a family Bible, family record book, or book of remembrance. Family Bibles that are no longer in the possession of the family may be at a historical or genealogical society. They are sometimes transcribed and published in genealogical periodicals.
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) collection contains some Minnesota Bible records (see the "Minnesota Genealogy" article) and is partially indexed in:
- Kirkham, E. Kay. An Index to Some of the Bibles and Family Records of the United States: 45,000 References as Taken from the Microfilm at the Genealogical Society of Utah. Volume 2. Logan, Utah: Everton Publishers, 1984. (Family History Library book 973 D22kk v.2; microfiche 6089184.)
