United States > Ohio > Norwegian Settlements

History:

In 1860, 328 249 immigrants lived in Ohio.  Scandinavian had started to arrive in Ohio around 1869. In 1900 about 1000 were Norwegians.  Most settled along Lake Erie, around Cleveland and Ashtabula, and formed communities that were strongly Norwegian.
