Did You Know?
The Nordelbische Landeskirche has joined forces with the Evangelical church of  Mecklenburg and the Pommeranian Evangelical church? It happened on May 27, 2012. In furture there will be one Landesbischof (official) whose seat will be in Schwerin. For the time being bishops in Schleswig, Hamburg, Greifswald, and Schwerin will still be in office at the local level. In 2013 the Landesbischof will be elected. The Landeskirchenamt will be Kiel. The eastern parts of the newly founded church will be divided into Kirchenkreise (offices).
