Also known as Reynolds Creek, which, technically, is the name of the valley in which the settlement is located.

Geographic location

Reynolds is 16 miles from Silver City and 15 miles from the Snake River on a road leading almost due west from Murphy, the county seat.

Directories

A directory of the residents and businesses at Reynolds Creek in 1898 is included in A Historical, Descriptive and Commercial Directory of Owyhee County, Idaho. A copy of the directory is in the Idaho State Archives, the Owyhee County Museum, and other Idaho libraries.[1] It is also available on microfilm through the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and its many family history centers.

History

Reynolds Creek was settled in the spring of 1864. A stage station was established there in April 1877. By 1898, the town included a store, post office, hotel, and saloon. Shares' Stage House was also located there.

The area produces hay, grain, and fruit, including apples, pears, apricots, plums, cherries, etc. Livestock is also raised in the area.[2]
