County Information

Description

The county was named after either for S. G. Roberts of Fargo, North Dakota, or for Solomon Robar, an early local French fur trader.[2] It's county seat is Sisseton. It was organized 1883. It is located in the Northeast corner of the state.[3]

Indian Reservation

A portion of the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation is in Roberts County. The remainder of the reservation is in Marshall, Day, and Codington Counties in South Dakota and in Richland and Sargent Counties in North Dakota.
