FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.


Welcome!

This FamilySearch Center serves the area east of Wasatch Boulevard and south from Parley's Canyon to about 4800 South.

Location:

  • There is plenty of parking.

Monday: 10 am - Noon; 1 pm - 3 pm

Tuesday: 2 pm - 4 pm; 7 pm - 9 pm

Wednesday: Noon - 2 pm; Wednesday evening can be reserved for groups

Thursday: 10 am - noon; (indexing), 7 pm - 9 pm

Friday: 9 am - Noon

Familysearch classes taught in April on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm. April 5: Introduction to Familysearch.org site, April 12: How to use Memories and Photos, April 19: Beginning research, April 26 How to find a family name to reserve for the temple.

Thursdays

  • 10 am-noon  -  Indexing group - all welcome to participate. Instruction provided.

Monthly consultant meeting held the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm.

Photo scanning - March 21-28, July 8-18, October 14-24

Four set of machines will be available to scan photos or photo albums. Individual photos of various sizes can be placed into a rapid-scanner which can scan both front and back of photos at a rate of about 60 per minute. A flatbed scanner is capable of scanning photos or album pages up to 8 x 14 inches. Pages with multiple photos on can be scanned as a whole and also scanned so that each photo is saved individually. They are scanned at 300 or 600 dpi.

Slide scanning - April 11-21 and September 12-19
