Parish History

SCISSETT, an ecclesiastical district, in the parishes of High Hoyland and Emley, wapentake of Staincross and Agbrigg, W. riding of York, 9 miles (S. E.by E.) from Huddersfield; containing 2000 inhabitants.[1]
