Summit is an extinct plantation, now an unorganized territory (township) in the East Central Penobscot townships of Penobscot County, Maine. Summit Plantation was first organized as Number 1 North Division Plantation from T1 ND (also known as Deanfield) about 1840. In 1892 Summit Planttion was organized as a successor plantation; and reorganized in 1895. By 1901 Summit Plantation was being taxed as "wild lands," and since then has become unorganized territory.
