This article should contain information about actual counties of Arizona. If a county was only proposed, it was not an actual county of Arizona. I found four such counties listed in this article, Misilla, Ewell, Castle Dome and Dona Ana. If a county was only a county of New Mexico Territory, it was not a county of Arizona. I found one such county listed in this article, Arizona.

I believe the above 5 counties should be removed from the table in this article. If you have differing opinions, please let me know. Sabwoo 02:06, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

They are not to be removed, the objective is to list every known proposed, discontinued, dissolved, changed and renamed counties and their fates on these county creation pages. Researchers will always uncover these counties in their families and wonder about them.  As for Arizona, you need to remember Arizona was originally part of New Mexico Territory so any that cropped up before the division of Arizona from New Mexico Territory as a separate territory will still be there. We already listed similiar county situtations involving other states including Nevada, Idaho, North Carolin, Vermont, etc. None get omitted. Dsammy 00:46, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
