The 1881 collection, according to the number of records contained in it is only 5,962,278 records.  Obviously a discrepancy since rhe 1861 census indicates 19,178,973 records, 1871 indicates 1,365,706 -- however, in the collection description it states that it is only 26% complete.  Please make similar notation in the description of the 1881 Census Collection.  The 1891 census indicates 31,782,845 records.  Where did all the people go?

The Known Issues document now explains the apparent discrepancy. The number of records refers to households, not individuals.
