This was an excellent article! But it for those of us whose German ancestor: a) ran away from home (or so the story goes) b) came to a huge city (New York City) before 1850, c) both nuclear families disintegrated before his death and d) family Bible went up in flames in a house fire, we're still facing that brick wall. *grin*Thanks for letting me vent!
