What a beautifully presented, relevant and well-documented article has been created here.  Having researched trails, I especially appreciate the map of U.S. southeastern paths, trails, and roads.

May I make one suggestion?  Under "Settlement Patterns: Early migration routes", the red non-links such as "Augusta and Cherokee Trail" & "Augusta-Savannah Trail" could be linked to "File:SC Migration Trails.png" or to the article (since they are included there) so that all wiki users will be able to access the information and map.
