Talk:Tracing Immigrant Origins
In my opinion, and after considerable years of conducting family history research and helping thousands do the same for Irish ancestry, the last bullit is highly questionable, i.e. "90 percent" of Irish emigrants, returned to Ireland.
Is this documented somewhere? The Irish were only too willing--with of course, mixed emotions--to leave their life and livings in Ireland due to the oppressive, harsh Penal Laws from 1695, up until at least the post Great Famine years in mid-19th Century.
