'''Question #1''': I can no longer find a death certificate that used to be in this collection. Can you help me with this?<br>'''Answer #1''': The collection is a rework of an older collection with the same name. There may be instances where there were certificates missed in the new indexing. If you can find the correct year, the certificates are filed by county and then somewhat alphabetically. If you scroll through the images in that area you may be able to find the record.

'''Question''': When browsing for death records, which are listed by year, then volume, county, certificate number and then month, I often find that although the certificate numbers are in order, the month listed for the death date is different than the month found in the title of the file. Why is this?<br>'''Answer''': Because of delayed recording, a county’s death certificates may be found in the following month’s volume or even later volumes. For example, the majority of El Paso County’s death certificates for January, 1977 are found in the appropriate alphabetical volume associated with February, 1977 (for example, 1977 &gt; vol 19, Feb, certificates 9001-9500, Dallas-Galveston Counties).

Can you clarify how to find them?<br>'''Answer #2''': Red River County crosses two browse points because of coverage of different years. 1904-1905 are in the browse point Vol 108-116, certificates 045550-049300 Navarro-Roberts counties. 1907 is found in the browse point Vol 116-122, certificates 049301-052499, Red River-Stephens counties.<br>

The top image was then filmed by itself, but the bottom one wasn’t. This makes the lower numbered certificate come after the higher numbered certificate. For example, certificate number 3553 comes after certificate number 3554. Some of the higher numbered certificates were then mis-linked and will be back one image from where they were linked. Other mis-linked certificates may be located by matching the certificate number, found in the record details, to the actual certificate on the images. This is done by scrolling through the images until the correct certificate number is located.

Known Issues

Question #1: I can no longer find a death certificate that used to be in this collection. Can you help me with this?
Answer #1: The collection is a rework of an older collection with the same name. There may be instances where there were certificates missed in the new indexing. If you can find the correct year, the certificates are filed by county and then somewhat alphabetically. If you scroll through the images in that area you may be able to find the record.

Question #2: I am having trouble finding records for Red River County in the browse point1903-1909. Can you clarify how to find them?
Answer #2: Red River County crosses two browse points because of coverage of different years. 1904-1905 are in the browse point Vol 108-116, certificates 045550-049300 Navarro-Roberts counties. 1907 is found in the browse point Vol 116-122, certificates 049301-052499, Red River-Stephens counties.

Question #3: When browsing 1940 Death Certificates, Volume 4, Certificates 001501-002000 is missing. Is this volume available?
Answer #3: 1940, Certificates 001501-002000, Davis to Edwards County are missing. FamilySearch does not have a copy of these certificates.

Question #4: When I search for an image, the wrong image comes up. How do I find the correct image?
Answer #4: Many images were filmed two at a time, one below the other.
