This ancient parish (AP) was created before 1813. Church of England records began in 1691.

THWING (All Saints), a parish, in the union of Bridhngton, wapentake of Dickering, E. riding of York, 8 miles (W. N. W.) from Bridlington; containing, the township of Octon. The Wesleyans and Primitive Methodists have places of worship.[1]
