Image Visibility

Whenever possible, FamilySearch makes images available for all users. However, ultimate rights to view images on our website are granted by the record custodians. The Ukraine, Donetsk Church Books collection is available to the Family History Library, FamilySearch Centers, and to members of the supporting organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Images can be viewed at a FamilySearch Center near you.

Record Description

This collection will include birth, baptism, marriage, death, and burial records from 1810-1928, taken from metrical books of the churches of the Ekatorinoslav province. At one time the current territory of the Donetsk region was part of the Ekatorinoslav province.

Record Content

Church records may contain the following information:

  • Name
  • Birth, baptism date
  • Name of Spouse
  • Marriage date
  • Death, burial date

How to Use the Record

Keep in mind:

  • There may be more than one person in the records with the same name.
  • You may not be sure of your own ancestor’s name.
  • Your ancestor may have used different names or variations of their name throughout their life.

⇒ Select the 'Место/Церковь' category
⇒ Select the 'Даты/Tом/Cобытия' category which takes you to the images.

Search the collection by image comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine if the image relates to them. You may need to look at several images and compare the information about the individuals listed in those images to your ancestors to make this determination.
