ULVERSTON (Holy Trinity) was built as a chapel of ease in the year 1832 and lay within the civil parish boundaries of Ulverston St Mary, Lancashire a market-town and parish, and the head of a union, in the hundred of Lonsdale north of the Sands, N. division of the county of Lancaster. It was founded in 1829 and closed in 1975. After being declared redundant it was adapted in 1977 as a sports hall which included a bar, squash courts and jacuzzi. It was later sold in 1987 for eventual conversion into residential accommodation. However, much of the church exterior and many of the memorials in the graveyard have survived intact.[1]
