Step 1: Did your ancestor die in 1905 or later?

  • No, or probably not.
  • Yes

Step 2: Did your ancestor die between 1898-1905?

  • No, or probably not.
  • Yes.
    • For a "real" death record dated 1898-1905 you need to go to the page in the wiki pertaining to the COUNTY your ancestor died in, and then click Vital Records in the Table of Contents.

Pre ? or death certifdoesn't exist?  Many rec ypes give death INFORMATION, if "real" death records don't exist for the time period your ancestor died (aka pre ) or if you can't find a "real" death record go to  a discussion on  Utah record types have death INFORMATION.
