Walmersley, Lancashire Genealogy
WALMERSLEY, [Christ Church] a township with a district chapel, in the parish and union of Bury, hundred of Salford, S. division of Lancashire, 2¼ miles north by east of Bury; part of the ecclesiastical parish of Shuttleworth. Whittle Pike is in the township. The district church dedicated to Christ, was built in 1837. In the township are places of worship for Independents and Wesleyans.—See also Shuttleworth.
